RDAFM working together with Malaysian Rare Disorders Society (MRDS) and with the support of RDAFM Network Affiliates, Malaysian Lysosomal Diseases Association and Motor Neuron Disease Malaysia held a poster exhibition at University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) in conjunction with World Rare Disease Day 2020. The event was organised with the collaboration of the Medical Genetics Unit and Medical Social Work Department of UMMC and the Genetic Counselling Society Malaysia. Visitors who stopped by at the exhibition were invited to draw an outline of their hands and to write meaningful messages for rare disease patients and families. The hand shapes were then cut out and stuck on a banner. The aim of this activity was to allow for more interaction and information about rare disease to be shared with the public. Besides being a fun activity, the cut-out hand shapes were visible images of personal support for people living with rare disease.
